Write a Book…Change the World

When I first decided to write a book, two years ago, I made two commitments to myself. One, that I would make the process of launching my first book fun, and two, that the priority in creating this book would be to open a dialogue with people about the concepts of thought leadership.  To uncover and shine a light on what holds people back. To understand what prevents some from stepping into the spotlight. What keeps them thinking small. What inhibits them from owning their power as leaders and their possibilities as thought leaders.

My book, Ready to Be a Thought Leader?, was released on January 8 and over the last few weeks I’ve had the absolutely amazing opportunity to fulfill on both of these promises.

Here’s what I’ve learned.

A book is a gift. It gives you the chance to hold conversations about topics that matter. To speak to people about concepts and ideas. To explore why and how and what if? You can help people see things in new ways and you begin to see others…and yourself…differently, too.

It turns out that bringing a book into the world is magic.

Here’s what magic looks like: Truth-telling, uncovering family secrets, being inspired, being humbled, learning what makes people tick. And most importantly, it includes helping people to see themselves as bigger than they believe themselves to be. It means helping them find their voice and their power to move forward.

Write a book…change the world. What could be better than that?
